Sechelt Hospital
Centrally located on the Sunshine Coast, Sechelt Hospital is a 5,400 m2, 63-bed acute care hospital with two operating rooms, which serves the region’s 33,000+ full-time residents, as well as a large tourist population.
In addition to a visually striking architectural renovation completed in 2013, Sechelt Hospital has undergone significant facility upgrades, including: newly equipped operating rooms; state-of-the-art x-ray, mammography, CT, ultrasound and MRI equipment; brand new laboratory space; and a safer, more private ER department (renos to be completed in 2024).
Sechelt Hospital provides a full range of services, including:
- Emergency Department
- Inpatient medical and surgical care, as well as a 4-bed Critical Care Unit
- Obstetrical Care
- Surgical Services, including Cystoscopy, Endoscopy, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ophthalmology, and Visiting Urology
- Mental Health and Substance Use Services, including a 6-bed psychiatric in-patient unit
- Regional Laboratory medicine
- Medical Imaging: state-of-the-art equipment services such as CT, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, Mammography and X-ray, as well as interventional radiology procedures
- Rehabilitation Services (such as Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy)
- Outpatient Medical Day Care services, including Chemotherapy, Dialysis and IV antibiotics, and dressing changes
